Russia, Ukraine trade claims of overnight attacks
In Ukraine, acting Dnipropetrovsk Governor Vladyslav Haivanenko reported that 15 people sought medical attention following a Russian drone attack on the city of Dnipro, which Mayor Borys Filatov said damaged five residential buildings. Odesa Governor Oleh Kiper added that fires broke out at energy and transport infrastructure sites in the region, later extinguished, and that several homes were also affected.
Zaporizhzhia Governor Ivan Fedorov noted that injuries from a strike on a supermarket in the regional administrative center had risen to six. Ukraine’s Air Force claimed that its air defenses intercepted 69 of 98 Russian drones launched overnight.
Meanwhile, Andrey Vorobyov, governor of the Moscow region, reported a fire at a power station in Shatura, about 120 kilometers east of Moscow. “Water, sewer, and electricity services in Shatura are operating normally. All measures are being taken to promptly restore heat,” he said. The Russian Defense Ministry said its forces shot down 75 Ukrainian drones, including 36 over the Black Sea.
The Geneva meetings are focused on the US-drafted peace plan, which reportedly calls for Ukraine to cede additional territory to Russia, limit its military size, and abandon its NATO ambitions. US President Donald Trump has given Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy until Thursday to respond.
