Russia Shoots Down Over Hundred Ukrainian Drones Overnight

(MENAFN) The Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday that its air defense systems shot down 145 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight, including dozens targeting the Moscow region, as stated by reports.

Between 11 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. Monday (2000 GMT Sunday to 0500 GMT Monday), authorities intercepted 53 drones over the Moscow area, including 46 headed toward the capital. Another 38 drones were downed over Bryansk near the border.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that over the past two days, air defense forces had destroyed roughly 250 Ukrainian drones approaching the city and at a secondary defensive line.

During this period, flight restrictions were repeatedly imposed and lifted at several Moscow airports, according to reports from the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency.
